Faber Academy Scholarship
In June 2025, Jessica was awarded a prestigious scholarship for the Advanced Writing a Novel course at Faber Academy. This highly competitive scholarship was awarded in recognition of Jessica's work on The Screaming Flowers, her debut adult literary novel that blends gothic horror, magical realism, and generational trauma. Under the mentorship of renowned author Jessica Moor, Jessica is excited to further develop her craft and bring the story of her heart to life.

Nature Writing Prize for Working Class Writers
In June 2025, Jessica was shortlisted for the Nature Writing Prize based on the first 1,000 words of her debut adult literary novel, The Screaming Flowers. Set up in 2020 by writer Natasha Carthew to create new opportunities for working-class nature writers of fiction, non-fiction and poetry. The free-to-enter prize is now in its sixth year, with support from Gaia Books (an imprint of Octopus Publishing Group) and the Arvon Foundation. Carthew was on this year’s judging panel and was joined by DK publishing director Stephanie Jackson,The Bookseller editor Philip Jones, and Juliet Pickering, vice-head of books at Blake Friedmann Literary Agency. Literary agent Harriet Poland and Chatto & Windus commissioning editor at Kaiya Shang were also among the judges for the 2025 prize, alongside author Tony Putman and 2024 prize winner Alisha Riley. Cancer Champion Certification
In June 2025, Jessica completed her training course as a Cancer Champion at the Hamar Centre, Royal Shrewsbury Hospital with the Lingen Davies Trust. As part of her role, she is now able to raise awareness of the cancer screening programmes and encourage people to take part, as well as talk to people about recognising the signs and symptoms for early diagnosis and encourage them to act if they have concerns.

Postgraduate Social Entrepreneurship
In April 2025, Jessica was awarded grant funding to complete further education studies at the University of Oxford in Social Entrepreneurship, where she is currently studying in hopes of building a platform that addresses those who have fallen through the cracks of the mental health system, intertwining accessible creativity with affective psychology and neuroscience from experts within those fields.

Mental Health First Aid Certification
In March 2025, Jessica was awarded complete funding by MHFA. She completed her Mental Health First Aid Training and became a certified MHFAider.

Madeline Milburn Literary Agency
From 2023-2024, Jessica was represented by Maddy Belton at the MM Literary Agency for her debut children’s fantasy novel before gratefully parting ways to focus on other pursuits.
